Monday couplet (distichon^)

Yalle i ítila lón hendutyaye *nanhatir áre
Néka i ñalta kamin, kalyas ananta ilú

-----------------------------------------------------
nanhat- v. "cast back, reflect"

^could be called an *enquelempelíre "six-five-verse"

A new poem daily -- impressive!

I don't quite understand the ending -ye in hendutyaye. Is it the enclitic conjunction seen in Menel Kemenye 'Heaven and Earth' ? Per VT 47:31 -ye 'and' is "added to second of pair". But in this case, if hendutya 'your eyes' is the second of a pair, where is the corresponding first?

+Björn Fromén indeed it is the enclitic -ye and it refers to lón: "just like a glinting mere so your eyes also reflect the sunlight"

I see. A blend then between i lón hendutyaye nanhatir and hendutya nanhate yalle i lón (nanhate).
