I need some translation help! I need a word for "climb." I couldn't find one, or a word for ascend. The only thing I can thing of is lelya in the sense of to go or travel up; Anybody got a better idea? Thanks!

Possibly orya- with an allative can be used in that sense. Otherwise you can use the am(b)a "upwards" prefix, e.g. *ammen- "go up".

In PE17:182 there is a root RETE 'climb' & an unglossed word retto (cp. against nouns ending in - (t)to), so maybe a verb *ret- (already suggested by Helge in his Q-Eng Wordlist), old frequentative *retta- /retsa- (cp. BAT/Etym:351, Qe lutta- etc.).

The sense has also been assigned to the root RATH (for Sindarin words only?); see Essekenta Endamarwa § 2.26 (3.14 etc.) : http://www.sindanoorie.net/art/RS_TI_WR.html

Hantanyel, Tamas ar Sami. I was looking for something more concise than lelya with ambar. I am just now learning Quenya, but will look up those words.
