What would you suggest for a good NQ equivalent of Goldogrin grith- v. “to attend to, tend, care, care for, mind”?
I usually resort to aþya- when I want to say "care for, help, comfort" but it doesn't always feel correct for every situation.
The EQ derivative of the root, karda-, has a slightly different gloss, and is rather coalescent with the derivatives of KAR.

As for "grith-", looks like ᴺ√RITH is free to use, so ᴺQ. "riþ-" (or "ris-") could work, alongside ᴺS. "(g)rith-".

Since the 1930s, most definitely not: PQ. syllabic consonants got discarded and with them went also the option of producing the "other line" of derivatives.
