Continuing the topic: actually, the invocations to Elbereth did work, and it's 21 Celcius outdoors now. So: flee, Winter!

Huzzah! Hurray! By the way, do you have a way to express such in S? Elo! and alae seems not to fit as comments on something another person informs about. Maer seems  a bit low key.

Aglareb perhaps? "wonderful" is not exactly the same as "hurray", but perhaps close enough.

Actually given the origins of 'hooray' (or rather 'hip' which goes along with it - it's linked to Latin 'eho' which means basically 'hello'), I would go with Ai/Ae!
