I did this translation some years ago, now updated from our current vocabulary. The translation was done from the Hungarian original (a poem by Endre Ady).

SNOWY CHRIST-CROSS IN THE WOODS

Snowy Christ-cross in the woods
In a moonful, great, winter night:
Old memory. In my sleigh
I travelled that place one time
In a moonful, great, winter night.

My father was still a joyful lad,
He sang, when he looked at a cross
And I was a son of my father
Who was bored with all carved pictures
and sang, when looked at a cross.

Two stubborn, Magyar Calvinists,
As Time itself, we flew there
Father, son: a Yes and a No
Side-by-side singing we sat
And as Time itself, we flew there.

Twenty years since, and in my mind
there flies in the night my sleigh now
And what I failed to do then
I bow my hat to him deeply
there flies in the night my sleigh now

*losselunca: 'snow-wain, sleigh' - better suggestions welcome!
*remma: [piece of] memory (REN-)
*yoquean: twenty

And this is the original:

KRISZTUS-KERESZT AZ ERDÕN

Havas Krisztus-kereszt az erdőn
Holdas, nagy, téli éjszakában:
Régi emlék. Csörgõs szánkóval
Valamikor én arra jártam
Holdas, nagy, téli éjszakában.

Az apám még vidám legény volt,
Dalolt, hogyha keresztre nézett,
Én meg az apám fia voltam,
Ki unta a faragott képet
S dalolt, hogyha keresztre nézett.

Két nyakas, magyar kálvinista,
Miként az Idõ, úgy röpültünk,
Apa, fiú: egy Igen s egy Nem,
Egymás mellett dalolva ültünk
S miként az Idõ, úgy röpültünk.

Húsz éve elmult s gondolatban
Ott röpül a szánom az éjben
S amit akkor elmulasztottam,
Megemelem kalapom mélyen.
Ott röpül a szánom az éjben.
Endre Ady - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In 1908, the first issue of a new periodical called Nyugat (The West) published a poem and an essay by Ady. He worked for this periodical for the rest of his life; from 1912 he was one of the editors. Also in 1908 in Nagyvárad, he was one of the founders of a literary circle called A Holnap (The ...

Maybe raxa ("a drag or any large, flat vehicle on wheels or rollers for hauling", PE 17:28) could be extended to mean 'sledge, sleigh'. Cf. Latin trah(e)a from trahere 'to drag'.

I believe *ren-ma would rather yield *renwa (as fanwa < fanma). The attested  _remma_ means 'snare'.

The prefix for 'twice' seems to be yu-:
_yu-nque_ ('twice six'), yu-rasta ('twice twelve'), so probably *yuquean '20'.

I am happy with *renwa!
I honestly don't know why I wrote **yoquean when I meant to write *yuquean. Duh.
