There's a decent book on this; Nostratic: Sifting the Evidence (and many other papers, but I'll save you a bibliography!) No one would ever deny that the two languages were in contact with and borrowed from each other, but I wouldn't go any further than that.
+Fiona Jallings Not an expert, but I was always drawn to Nostratic hypothesis (in its weakest form, without Afro-Asiatic). Though I don't really think it is possible to distinguish contact and borrowing from genuine connection in such a distant era. But the morphological and grammatical evidence seems much persuasive for me.
Totally unconnected: did somebody before attempt to have some fun and derive Protoindoeuropean from Primitive Quendian? :D Is PIE gherdh 'enclose' connected to CE COR 'round'?

LOL, I've always had the thought that Quendian and Indo-European (and Uralic) are somehow connected.
+Tamas Ferencz Indeed I do! In fact, it is obvious that in-universe, the Eldarin tongues (and even more so Avarin) would have inevitably influenced our speech. But which branches exactly? I wonder which languages did he consider the remainder of Adûni.
