Phonology is my weak point. That's why I always try to seek for a piece of advice from wiser scholars.
But if you ask, I'd expect QL
turn into smth like √SIS with a real verb

then that's a rather philosophical question (or a question of policy if you want): do we prefer/give priority to simple phonetic adaptations from Gnomish/EQ, or re-formulating the words using later attested morphemes?
